The Story So Far...

Heather and Tony met on September 18, 2004. It was about 9pm on that Saturday night, and they had both volunteered to help build a stage at their local church. In typical Axis (the name of the ministry in their church for their age group) fashion, it was being built the night before it was scheduled to be used. They met in front of that stage that night and worked together, unknowing what was to come.

After about a month of slowly getting to know each other, they went on their first date on October 15, 2004. Dinner at Max and Erma's followed by a movie, Friday Night Lights. A very fun evening that led to many more. The funny part was, neither of them knew if it was a date or just hanging out until a few weeks later when they agreed it was their first date.
From that point on, they shared many more experiences together; from serving on the production team at church, to sailing on Lake Michigan, to off-roading in the mountains of Southern California, to playing Donkey Konga at a Scottish party where they ate Haggis.

Finally on April 29, 2006, a very nervous Tony took Heather on a stroll through the Japanese Garden at the Chicago Botanic Garden. They walked up a pair of stone steps that led to a spot that overlooked a Zen Rock Garden. And on that spot, underneath the roof of a little hut, he got down on one knee and asked the question. With a happy reply of yes, they walked back down those stone steps ready to begin the next part of their lives together.

Thank you for joining them as they celebrate the start of their new life together.
